Each candy bag is packaged with love by Mason or Michael, brothers who happen to be on the Autism Spectrum. Not only do you get a sugar fix, but you give them both a meaningful purpose in fulfilling your orders.
Our family came up with "All Kinds Candy Co." because, unfortunately, opportunities are far and few for those with a disability. Packing your candy order not only gives purpose, but it helps continue to build life skills.
Everything is done under full supervision!
Mason may be on the Autism Spectrum, but he is an inspiration that overcomes every obstacle thrown his way — including being a childhood cancer survivor.
Three and a half years of chemotherapy has left him with some physical disabilities that can make the average job difficult. However, that doesn't stop him from volunteering at the Community Treasures Thrift Shop and taking on the main role here at All Kinds Candy Co.
Michael is on the Autism Spectrum but has a few other diagnoses and an intellectual disability. He is not fully verbal and struggles to fit into society's norms like school or group activities.
You will likely not see Michael, as he struggles with public places, but know that he is working hard behind the scenes. From testing candy (his favorite part), to placing labels, hole punching, sorting and working on his counting skills — this gives him a wonderful purpose to work alongside his brother and be part of something at his skill level.
